Manchester United have hit another stumbling block in their desperate quest to get Jadon Sancho off their books.

Juventus are most interested in the Englishman, but according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, the Old Lady are focusing their efforts elsewhere.

The Serie A giants appear to be prioritising a move for Porto forward Francisco Conceicao and are even edging close to wrapping up a deal for the Portuguese winger.

They’re further along in their bid to sign Conceicao than they are for Sancho. In fact, Juventus have not submitted any formal bid to sign the former Chelsea loanee.

Talks have taken place between Juventus and Sancho’s representatives, but the player’s lofty wage demands was always going to be a sticking point considering the Italians are operating on a tight budget.

Sancho has told Juventus he’s willing to take a pay cut to force a transfer. But even then, Juventus will struggle to table an acceptable wage package.

Juventus had already held talks with United, but both clubs are around £4 million apart in their valuation, with United demanding at least £25m.

Sancho’s wage demands also scuppered a permanent move to Chelsea after his topsy-turvy loan spell.

He notched five goals and 10 assists in 41 games for Chelsea. He also scored in the Blues’ Europa Conference League final win against Real Betis.

Chelsea wanted to keep him, but couldn’t agree to contract terms. That appears to be the same situation with Juventus, who have instead focused their efforts on Conceicao.

Di Marzio reports that the Italian giants have submitted a new bid for Conceicao. They’ve tabled a proposal worth €22m (£19m), but Porto are holding out for €25m (£21.5m).

If Juventus completely pull their interest in Sancho, the player’s only option might be to move to Turkey or Saudi Arabia, with clubs in Europe’s top five leagues struggling to match his demands.
