Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka is reportedly adamant about joining Inter Milan, which could spark a swap deal with Denzel Dumfries.
The Englishman is a Crystal Palace youth product who eventually earned a big-money move to Old Trafford in 2019.
However, the 26-year-old has yet to fulfill his initial promise, and could be looking to change air. Moreover, the player’s contract with the Red Devils will expire in 2025, which could prompt the club to sell him to avoid losing him for free next year.
But according to The Athletic, Wan-Bissaka turned down an offer from West Ham. as he prefers to join Inter.
The England international would like to sign for the Nerazzurri this summer, or next year as a free agent.
The source adds that intermediaries are pushing forward the idea of a swap deal between Wan-Bissaka and Dumfries. However, this proposal hasn’t yet reached an advanced stage.
The Dutchman was also linked with Man United earlier in the summer.
Like Bissaka, the 28-year-old is running on a contract expiring in June 2025. Nevertheless, Inter have recently found a breakthrough in their extension talks with Dumfries’ representatives.
Therefore, the two parties are no longer keen to part ways, but are instead focusing on penning a new contract.
The Netherlands international has been plying his trade at San Siro since 2021.
He has endured many highs and lows, and even lost his starting berth to Matteo Darmian following an injury suffered last December. Nevertheless, he remains a favorite of Simone Inzaghi.
As for Wan-Bissaka, he no longer holds a starting role at Man United, with Erik ten Hag preferring Diogo Dalot.
