Saturday could not have gone any better for fans of Manchester United.

It was the day Cristiano Ronaldo made his second debut for the club and the Portuguese superstar netted a brace in a 4-1 victory over Newcastle.

The game at Old Trafford also saw Bruno Fernandes score a long-range stunner and local lad Jesse Lingard strike in stoppage-time to make certain of victory for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men.

Truly it was a day to remember for the Red Devils faithful and the positivity surrounding the club right now will not be disappearing for quite some time.

Ronaldo's arrival appears to have galvanised the players, especially goalkeeper David De Gea.

The Spain international was at his very best in the victory over Newcastle, making a number of crucial saves.

And De Gea also showed the world that he is more than capable of producing passes befitting of Manchester City's Ederson.

For United's third goal of the game, which was Fernandes' rocket from distance, the 'keeper played a stunning volleyed pass to kickstart the attack.

It was world-class distribution from De Gea and you can check out his snippet of brilliance below.

That's right up there with Ederson's best ever.

If United have a rejuvenated De Gea between the sticks for the 2021/22 season, then the sky really is the limit for the team.

Raphael Varane has greatly increased the quality of the defence, Paul Pogba has seven assists in his first four Premier League games, Mason Greenwood is continuing to shine and Ronaldo is back scoring goals in the famous red jersey.

That's pretty much every single box ticked, right?

Perhaps the only issue that needs resolving is the form of summer signing Jadon Sancho.

The English winger is yet to make a goal contribution since arriving from Borussia Dortmund and his performances have been far from the best.

But Sancho is still just 21 and he'll no doubt smash it for United in due course once his adaptation to the Premier League is complete.

It's certainly not a bad time to be a United fan right now...
