Manchester United increasingly confident that Paul Pogba will stay put come the summer

According to the Daily Star, Manchester United are hopeful that star midfielder Paul Pogba will stay put at the club come the summer.

His agent, Mino Raiola dropped a bombshell in December when he announced his client’s intention to move. Pogba was said to be unhappy and that he would not be signing a new contract.

With his current deal set to expire in 2022, the current season is expected to be his last at Old Trafford. He is not short of suitors and has attracted attention from the likes of PSG, Juventus, and Real Madrid.

If anything, Pogba’s performances have picked up since Raiola’s comments. The 27-year-old has stepped up his game, making a noticeable difference in the team’s fortunes.

He scored the winner against Burnley to send us top of the Premier League last week. Pogba went on to do the same against Fulham midweek to once again leapfrog Manchester City to the summit.

With the team’s fortunes on the rise, United are increasingly confident that Pogba will commit his future to the club. The player will put his exit plans on hold provided Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side prove themselves to be the real deal.

An ambitious player, the prospect of playing in a United side capable of winning the biggest honours could sway his decision.

Pogba is also building up a good rapport with Solskjaer. The Norwegian has, to his credit, handled the issue well and has brought the best out of his star man.

The club’s record signing, Pogba has often flattered to deceive. His improvement in form appears to be coming at the right time as United hope to end an eight-year Premier League title drought.
