Manchester City face Juventus in the FIFA Club World Cup this evening as the two teams battle for top spot in Group G.
Both sides are already assured of their place in the Round of 16 ahead of their final group fixture. City have made light work of their opponents to date, scoring eight times and failing to concede. Pep Guardiola’s side are aiming to win the trophy for a second time after their 2023 success.
Juventus narrowly lead City in the group, courtesy of goals scored. The Italian side thrashed Al-Ain 5-0 in their opener before a 4-1 win over Wydad AC.
Rodri is hoping to make his first start since September after two cameo appearances in the tournament to date. The Spaniard recently returned from an ACL injury that decimated his campaign last season.
Rico Lewis remains suspended following his red card in the opening fixture. The defender has seen his ban extended by two games. Mateo Kovacic remains missing for City with an Achilles issue, while Claudio Echeverri was forced off after scoring during the win over Al-Ain. The teenager netted his first City goal with a free-kick in the 6-0 win.
Man City predicted XI: Ederson; Nunes, Dias, Gvardiol, Ait-Nouri; Rodri, Reijnders; Savinho, Foden, Marmoush; Haaland.
