Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has been ruled out of tonight’s Premier League trip to Brighton.
The Norwegian striker was substituted off against Real Madrid, due to fatigue according to Pep Guardiola, before missing the weekend’s FA Cup semi-final win over Chelsea.
He, along with Phil Foden, missed training on Tuesday in a major worry for City. John Stones was able to train, however.
Speaking to reporters about the trio, Pep Guardiola said on Wednesday: “Erling Haaland is not ready for tomorrow - the other two they are ready ... [It's] not a big issue [for Haaland] but not allowed for this game."
City face two tricky away trips in their bid to reclaim the Premier League lead from Arsenal, with Nottingham Forest coming after the Brighton match. Some rotation is therefore possible from Guardiola.
Ederson should return in between the posts with Josko Gvardio, Mateo Kovacic and Jeremy Doku also options to enter the XI.
