Manchester City host Nottingham Forest in the Premier League this evening, bidding to get their faltering fortunes back on track.
Pep Guardiola’s side are without a win in seven games and have lost four consecutive fixtures in the Premier League. It’s the first time Guardiola has endured such a run in his managerial career.
The Citizens were second-best in a 2-0 defeat at Liverpool on Sunday, a result that leaves the champions 11 points from the league leaders. Their title defence is in real jeopardy and Guardiola will demand a response against Forest at the Etihad.
Jeremy Doku could return to the starting side after being introduced from the bench at Liverpool. The Belgium international lifted a lifeless City at Anfield and his spark could be used to help turn their fortunes around.
Rodri (ACL), Oscar Bobb (leg), Mateo Kovacic (unspecified) and John Stones (foot) remain out, with Guardiola having struggled to find the balance in his midfield. Kevin De Bruyne should come in from the start after being eased into action since returning from injury.
Guardiola also faces a decision on who starts in goal. The Spaniard dropped first-choice Ederson for the defeat at Liverpool, following a rash performance in the 3-3 Champions League draw with Feyenoord last week. Stefan Ortega started at Anfield.
