Liverpool and City then lock horns again next Saturday in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley Stadium.

They are two matches that football fans simply cannot wait to watch, especially after the pair played out an absolute thriller in their last meeting.

That strike came just five minutes after Mohamed Salah scored one of the best solo goals of the 2021/22 campaign.

It was a match that had it all, including an outrageous goal-line block by Rodri and a Pep Guardiola touchline meltdown.

If the two upcoming encounters between Liverpool and City are half as entertaining, we’re all in for a treat.

What did Klopp actually say?

Klopp told Sky Sports: “Man City with the ball is a proper team,” Klopp told Sky Sports. “There are ways to defend it – you have to close down the spaces, and to do that you have to step out in specific moments.

“I’m not sure I’ve seen many games where City can pass so easily through the half spaces. They had chances, but they didn’t score from that.

“We had long balls, which made absolutely no sense. All these things we changed in the second half immediately. You could see how we set up – we were higher, more aggressive, because we felt more compact.

“The message was to play the extra pass, which we didn’t do in the first half at all. I’m really happy. Do we want to win a game like this? Yes. But we have to admit today, because the game has two halves, the point is completely fine.”
