What's the latest news involving Sterling?

Sterling is currently among City's top earners, with his Etihad Stadium deal worth £300,000-per-week.

Sterling's opportunities have dried up after City forked out a British transfer record fee of £100million to sign fellow winger Jack Grealish from Aston Villa in August.

It has led to Sterling, who is valued at £81million by Transfermarktrevealing he would be open to sealing a switch to a club outside of England if the amount of game time he is afforded does not increase.

admitting he could not assure Sterling of regular football.

What has Michael Bridge said about Sterling?

Bridge believes next summer will be a key moment in Sterling's career.

The journalist admits he would not be shocked if the England international leaves the Etihad Stadium when the transfer window reopens in January or next summer.

It means that Bridge is unsure as to where Sterling's future lies.

He told GIVEMESPORT: "He's 26 years of age and a move wouldn't surprise me.

"I think he's got less than two years left on his contract, which probably means next summer is an absolute make or break for him."

Is Sterling capable of working his way back into Guardiola's preferred line-up?

Sterling has had a hugely successful career since joining City from Liverpool in a deal worth up to £49million six years ago.

The winger has gone on to make more than 300 appearances for the Etihad Stadium-based club and racked up 115 goals in the process.

He has also gone on to clinch the top flight title on three occasions and enjoy success in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, winning the latter five times.

Sterling has continued to impress on the international stage, racking up 71 England caps and continuing to be called upon by Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate even when he is out of favour under Guardiola.

The problem for Sterling, when it comes to nailing down a spot in City's side, is that Guardiola has an array of attacking talent at his disposal.
