Manchester City have expressed interest in signing Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi, according to Marca.
The Cityzens are preparing to launch a mega-money bid for the Morocco international, who is reportedly unsettled at Parc des Princes.
The 24-year-old has helped Les Parisien lift back-to-back Ligue 1 titles since arriving from Inter Milan in 2021 but could be on the move again this summer.
PSG have already lost two high-profile players following last season’s record-breaking campaign, with Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos cutting ties with the French giants.
Neymar has also been linked with a move away despite reports suggesting incoming manager Luis Enrique wants him at the club, while PSG’s golden boy Kylian Mbappe is back on Real Madrid’s radar.
The Seismic shift at the French capital could also see Hakimi exit the Parc des Princes, with Pep Guardiola’s treble winners identifying the Moroccan as a high-value target.
Man City are also preparing to lose a couple of top players following their historic achievement last season – one of them being Kyle Walker, who is the subject of concrete interest from Bayern Munich.
The England international is entering the final 12 months of his contract, and reports suggest he could be open to a new adventure in a foreign land, leaving Man City to scour the market for potential replacements.
Joao Cancelo will return to the Etihad Stadium following a hugely successful loan stint at Bayern. But the 29-year-old has no future at Man City after falling out of favour with Guardiola.
The Portuguese defender is expected to be shipped out again, possibly on a permanent deal this time, with Arsenal, Real Madrid and Barcelona showing interest.
Cancelo and Walker’s impending departures will leave the newly crowned European champions light on full-back options which explains their interest in Hakimi.
Guardiola is personally pushing for the Man City hierarchy to move for Hakimi. But the former Borussia Dortmund man will not come cheap with three years left to run on his PSG contract.
