Manchester City are not prepared to lose Raheem Sterling without a fight.
The England winger is not happy at his lack of game time this season, and is wanted by Barcelona.
However, The Telegraph states that City are hoping to keep Sterling for the long-term.
They will talk to him about a new contract, and hope that he can get more chances in the first team on the right wing.
Sterling's game time on the left wing is limited due to the development of Phil Foden and the arrival of Jack Grealish in the summer.
City will not sell Sterling in January, and hope that a run of games will convince him to sign a new deal in the near future.
