Norwegian striker Erling Haaland was labelled a "wh*re" by Swedish defender and Nottingham Forest star Alexander Milosevic.
The two were involved in a tense tussle throughout Norway's 2-1 win over Sweden in the UEFA Nations League.
Haaland, who signed for Manchester City this summer, scored the two goals for Norway in the clash.
He has told TV2 of the incident: "First he called me a wh*re. I can safely say that I am not.
"Secondly, he said he was going to break my legs, a minute-and-a-half later I scored. That was fine, that."
Norway team-mate Leo Skiri Ostigard added: "That's the dumbest thing to do.
"To fire up Erling – I've tried to do it in training, and I'll never do it again. It's something he likes, and then it slams fast behind you."
