Manchester City are showing serious interest in luring England midfielder Kalvin Phillips from Leeds United.

The defensive midfielder has seen his stock rise since his impressive displays for the Three Lions at Euro 2020 in the summer.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, City are now in the race to sign Phillips, with any transfer most likely to take place next summer.

Manager Pep Guardiola wants to secure that position in his squad for the long term, as veteran Fernandinho is entering the tail end of his career.

Phillips may also be a target for Real Madrid, who were linked with the 25-year-old during the recently passed summer transfer window.
