Bernardo Silva sent Man City back to the FA Cup final after scoring a late winner against Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday.

The holders bounced back from the disappointment of being knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid in midweek to narrowly defeat Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

“Very happy after a very frustrating week for all of us, for me personally,” Silva told BBC One after the final whistle.

“The good thing is in football at Man City, you play every three days. Every three days you have the chance to put things right and now we have a chance to win another trophy.”

Silva played the role of poacher for his goal, seizing on the opportunity to score after Kevin De Bruyne’s low cross at the endline rebounded off a Chelsea defender.

“It’s the usual Kevin De Bruyne movement,” the Portuguese said. You try to put numbers in the box to increase your chances of scoring. I’m lucky the ball dropped there.”

He added: “Throughout the years, we’ve done it may times and today, the team showed a lot of character.”

Man City will find out their opponents in the FA Cup final on Sunday when rivals Manchester United take on Championship outfit Coventry City.

“It’s going to be tough,” Silva said. “Between Coventry and Manchester United, it’s going to be a very good game and we’re looking forward to the final.”
