Paris Saint-Germain are planning a defensive revamp to tackle ongoing issues at the back. With Milan Škriniar potentially leaving and Presnel Kimpembe still working towards full fitness, the club is actively looking for reinforcements.
As Marquinhos enters his 30s, PSG are focused on bringing in younger talent to strengthen their defense. In 2024, they made a major move by signing promising center-backs Lucas Beraldo and Willian Pacho.
Despite these additions, PSG’s search continues. According to Foot Mercato, PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos has started talks with representatives of RC Lens defender Abdukodir Khusanov. While discussions are ongoing, PSG have yet to submit an official bid.
RC Lens reportedly value the Uzbekistan international at €15 million to €20 million, with several Premier League clubs also showing interest. However, those clubs have now received a transfer boost.

Journalist Ben Jacobs reports that Manchester City are making progress on a deal for the 20-year-old. The player has attracted interest from several clubs, including Newcastle and Tottenham, but City are currently ahead of their Premier League rivals and are prepared to meet Lens’ asking price, which exceeds £30 million.
Le Parisien’s Marc Mechenoua reported that Khusanov will not be joining PSG. Sporting advisor Luis Campos explained that the club has decided not to sign the Uzbek player, highlighting their priority of bringing in players who fit seamlessly into Luis Enrique’s style of play.
