Manchester City will not sell Jack Grealish to fund a move for England star Jude Bellingham, according to transfer reporter Dean Jones.
There has been some talk about the Citizens potentially cashing in on the 27-year-old in order to sign the Borussia Dortmund midfielder, but Jones cannot see that happening.
Football Insider recently claimed that City are willing to let Grealish go in their bid to land Bellingham.
The 19-year-old is going to cost huge money, with the same outlet reporting that Dortmund want well in excess of £100m for him, while Grealish is currently one of City’s most valuable assets financially.
As per BBC Sport, the Premier League champions paid £100m to sign the attacking midfielder last summer. Elsewhere, according to Spotrac, he is currently earning £300,000 a week at the Etihad.
Ultimately, if they do need to get someone off their books to facilitate Bellingham’s arrival, Grealish being the sacrificial pawn makes a lot of sense.
Jones, however, does not think Pep Guardiola will be pushing Grealish out of the door to sign his England team-mate.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: “I just see no chance of Man City actually looking to cash in on Jack Grealish at this point. I know that he probably hasn’t transitioned into the team as well as you might have hoped in terms of stats, in terms of maybe even minutes.
“But it was a really big signing for them, and it’s a player that Pep Guardiola really has spoken about with great admiration and great hope. And it’s not very often Man City quickly turn their back on someone.”
Grealish has had his struggles at City since joining last year. In fact, as per Transfermarkt, he has actually only scored one goal this season.
Nevertheless, the former Aston Villa captain still has a lot of quality. In the Premier League, there are few better dribblers than him.
For example, in his last season at Villa Park, Grealish completed 2.5 dribbles per game, which was one of the highest averages in the division (via WhoScored).

At the Etihad, City supporters have probably not seen too much of that, with WhoScored showing that the England international is now recording 1.5 dribbles on average. However, he is no longer the main man in his team, while the Citizens are obviously a side who like to pass the ball and move under Guardiola.
According to FBref, unsurprisingly, they have the highest average ball possession in the Premier League.
Because of the above, Grealish is not dribbling as much as he used to. But he still has it in his locker, and it is probably one reason why Gareth Southgate decided to take him to Qatar.
