Manchester City midfielder Tommy Doyle admits he draws inspiration from Phil Foden.

Despite only being a year older, Foden is tapped for his experience by the younger players as much as anyone else in the squad.

"I looked up to Phil and I still do," Doyle told the Manchester Evening News.

"I still appreciate what he is doing for this club because I understand how difficult it is. It's not easy but that's what is good about it and that's what makes you work so hard. Seeing Phil do it is brilliant and gives you that determination to go I want to do that.

"You have the same mentality of always wanting to be the best and always learning off the incredible players that you're playing with. Of course you are a junior member but once you're up there they expect the best from you, they see that you're up there for a reason and the lads have been fantastic with us because it is not an easy place to come into, there are so many good players and you have to be so so patient which is brilliant.

"It's probably the hardest club in the world to get into, which is exciting, it's good, it makes you work hard and especially playing for the club that you love you'll do anything for it to be in and around learning off these players and the managers and staff is what dreams are made of."
