Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden admits his Euros injury has been frustrating.

Foden made his first Premier League appearance of the season in Manchester City 's goalless draw with Southampton, coming off the bench in the second-half.

A foot injury saw the 21-year-old miss England 's penalty shoot-out final defeat to Italy, but Foden said he is determined to make up for lost time.

“It's really nice to be back from such a long injury," said Foden.

“It was a difficult one to get over, but now I'm back I'm enjoying my football and just trying to take every minute that comes.

“It takes quite a while, previously when I've had injuries, to get it [sharpness] back, but that will come with more minutes I get and hopefully I can get back to my best soon.

“I'm very excited. We've had new signings like Jack Grealish to add more quality to the squad and I'm looking forward to this year."
