The hearing into Manchester City's 115 charges of financial rule breaches will begin on Monday, September 16.

City were initially charged back in February 2023 but a lengthy process of preparing for trial has dragged on, leading to significant frustration among rivals fans as both Everton and Nottingham Forest were sanctioned for their own financial breaches inside a matter of weeks.

A handful of speculative schedules have been suggested, but now numerous reports have confirmed City's hearing will begin on Monday.

The Times note that the trial was initially expected to begin in November but, with a desire to find a solution before 2025, things have been brought forward two months.

The hearing is scheduled to last ten weeks.

City have consistently denied any wrongdoing and vowed to produce evidence to clear their name, having previously fought off a European ban from UEFA in 2020 for wider financial breaches.

La Liga president Javier Tebas, who has spoken openly about City's charges in the past, recently claimed that most Premier League sides are pushing for severe sanctions to be handed out.

"I have spoken with many Premier League clubs and most of them understand that City should be sanctioned," Tebas claimed.
