Manchester City and PUMA are delighted to announce the launch of a global fan vote to decide the club’s official 2026/27 Third kit, following the pioneering PUMA AI Creator kit design competition announced in December.
Taking into consideration the 1.6 million ratings by fans on the platform, PUMA and Manchester City have shortlisted ten designs that reflect the spirit of creativity, passion and City culture.
Powered by leading AI co-creation platform DEEPOBJECTS, the PUMA AI Creator tool launched in December last year is a first-of-its-kind fan activation that saw over 180,000 dream kits designed by City supporters all over the world, using text prompting, customisation tools and intuitive sliders.
Manchester City and PUMA are now inviting fans all over the world to make club history and have the final say on which top ten fan design will be worn on-pitch by City stars in the 2026/27 season.
Voting is open at aicreator.puma.com and fans can submit their choice until 23:59 GMT 29th January.
In a first for world football, Manchester City goalkeepers will also showcase the bespoke PUMA AI Creator goalkeeper kit on-pitch during the men’s fixture against Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium and Manchester City Women’s away clash against Aston Villa on Saturday[MF4] 25 January.
Inspired by the net of a goal and designed by City players Ederson, Stefan Ortega and Rico Lewis using PUMA AI Creator , the first-ever manufactured football kit using AI will be available as a limited edition for purchase as an in-store exclusive in City Stores (Etihad Stadium and Arndale Centre) on Saturday 25 January, while stocks last.
Speaking on the AI-generated goalkeeper shirt during the launch event for PUMA AI Creator in December, Ederson said:
“It’s the first time I’ve designed a shirt together with Stefan and Rico and I’m so happy I’ll get to see our shirt on the pitch. It looks amazing - the colours are so nice, they remind me of the colours of Brazil.”
Serena Gosling, Director of Integrated Fan Experience and Retail & Licensing at Manchester CIty, commented:
“We know how passionate fans are about kits, and how important the kits we wear each season are. It's been so exciting to allow fans to design their dream City kit thanks to the power of AI, and we've been blown away by the levels of participation – we can’t wait to see what’s voted for as our 2026/27 Third Kit.”
“We are delighted to have the PUMA AI Creator goalkeeper kit on-pitch this weekend in a first for world football, and to offer fans the chance to own a piece of history with this limited-edition shirt.”
Ivan Dashkov, Head of Emerging Marketing Tech at PUMA, stated:
“We launched AI Creator to empower the PUMA and Man City communities to explore the limits of their creativity through advanced technology, and the response has been absolutely remarkable. It’s been incredible to see fans unlock fresh ideas and unique expressions, all while deepening their connection with both brands.”
“Now that we’re down to the final 10, it’s clear that AI has opened up an exciting new space for collaboration between us and our audience. It’s especially rewarding to see how it enables anyone—regardless of design experience—to express their creativity in ways they might not have imagined before. We look forward to seeing how these designs and this technology continue to inspire innovation and lead the way toward more engaging experiences with our community.”
The winning PUMA AI Creator fan design will be revealed in summer 2026. Fans can keep up to date with all PUMA Manchester City kit launches via official club and PUMA channels.
