Manchester City are interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba on a free transfer.

That’s according to reports from the Daily Mail who believe that the Premier League champions are exploring the option of picking up the Frenchman when his contract expires at the end of June.

Pep Guardiola is reported to be eyeing up the 29-year-old as a replacement for the outgoing Fernandinho, who will be leaving the Etihad when his current deal runs out.

It is starting to look as if Pogba’s second spell at Old Trafford is coming to an end with no recent reports over talks of a new contract being signed at the club.

He arrived from Juventus for a reported fee of around £89m in 2016 and has made over 150 appearances for United in that period.

Under the contract regulations in Britain, City cannot formally start talking to Pogba until the end of the current season.
