Man City have message relayed to Sporting CP over Nuno Mendes

Manchester City chiefs insist they're not in the market for Sporting CP wing-back Nuno Mendes.

The young defender has been linked with a summer move to the Premier League, with City mentioned amongst his suitors.

However, a City source insists they're not interested in Mendes this summer.

"Manchester City aren't interested in Nuno Mendes. We haven't made any offers and we're not going to. We're not interested in him," said the club source.

Mendes is 19 years old and has five caps for Portugal's senior team. He has a contract with Sporting until 2025.
