​Man City defender Stones: Europe disappointments made us stronger | OneFootball

Manchester City centre-back John Stones believes previous disappointments in Europe stand them in good stead for their semi final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Citizens take on PSG at home on Tuesday, and are 2-1 up from the away leg in Paris.

City had fallen in the quarter finals the previous three seasons in the Champions League, but are one game away from their first appearance in the final.

"I do think with all those things that have happened has made us a stronger team," Stones said at his pre-match press conference.

"The disappointment of getting knocked out in harsh circumstances, it's hard to take and it's something we've had to use season this season as fuel to go and motivate us, push forward and make that next step from the previous season - and try and get our goal which is to win the Champions League.

"This season we have a great opportunity to get to the final. We need to use those emotions of disappointment or whatever it may be to motivate us to do better."
