Man City coach Pep Guardiola feels that as long as tomorrow evening’s Champions League final stays 0-0, Inter Milan will feel like they’re ahead.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, the Cityzens coach suggested that in contrast, his team will be more proactive.

Inter and City will each have to get their tactical approaches right if they’re to have any hope of winning tomorrow’s final.

The Nerazzurri have often employed more of a counterattacking style in Europe this season. Meanwhile, City rarely compromise on their proactive, high-pressing possession-based approach.

This is a lot of the reason why so many people regard City as favourites tomorrow.

In the view of Cityzens coach Guardiola, Inter will see every moment that they keep a clean sheet as a success. Even if they are unable to score in the process.

The Spanish tactician views the Nerazzurri’s likely approach as more circumspect, and based around keeping the match tight rather than trying to open it up.

Man City Coach Pep Guardiola On Inter Milan

“Inter are greater than us in terms of history,” City coach Guardiola said. “But tomorrow, 95 minutes will be what counts.”

“We’ll need a top-level performance,” he continued. “The more I watch Inter, the more concerned I am about them.”

“I’ve had to watch many matches, and imagine what they could do on the pitch: Barella’s runs, changing the game.”

“They do a lot of interesting things,” Guardiola said of Inter. “That’s what’s been occupying my mind in the past few hours, like what we have to do to be dangerous.”

“If we win, we’ll be champions, if we lose, we’ll be the second best team in Europe, and that’s still not bad.”

“We know that at 0-0, the Italian teams think they’re winning,” Man City coach Guardiola said. “We’re the opposite.”
