Manchester City academy coach Brian Barry-Murphy was delighted with their UEFA Youth League victory at Sevilla.

City won 5-1 to kickoff their campaign.

The hosts took an early lead through Diego Hormigo, but City responded through Carlos Borges just before the break.

And City would take control in the second half, with further strikes from Adedire Mebude and Will Dickson, plus another brace from Borges, set the seal on a convincing 5-1 victory.

Barry-Murphy said: "One of the key takeaways from last season [in the UEFA Youth League] was going to the different stadiums and facing the home team and their supporters.

"It's very good for our players in terms of how they deal with that. We were a little surprised by the conditions we faced in the first half and the intensity of the opponents and hostility of the crowd.

"But for us to adapt and come through in the second half is pleasing and obviously stands us in good stead for the rest of the group."
