Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has a simple message for Southampton ahead of their clash against Liverpool.

The Citizens coach, who was speaking after his team's 2-2 draw with West Ham United in the Premier League, wants the Saints to win 4-0.

Guardiola was asked if he had a message for Southampton, as they could do his side a favor in the title race by taking points off Liverpool on Tuesday.

He said to reporters: "Well I would say [to Southampton] beat Liverpool 4-0.

"But it's not about that. It doesn't matter what happens in both [Liverpool] games and I'm pretty sure mentally I'm thinking they're going to make six points so it's in our hands.

"The debate is over on if they lose or win and it depends on us.

"So [we need to] do the best perfect game as possible we can do and I encourage all the people, all the blues in Manchester that they should go to the street, go to the stadium, because they know we are going to give absolutely everything to win that game and they will be so proud - I'm pretty sure of that."
