Man City boss Guardiola: Sporting CP midfielder Matheus Nunes among world best players

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola heaped praise on Matheus Nunes after last night's Champions League win against Sporting CP.

City were comfortable 5-0 winners in the first-leg of the round 16 tie, but Nunes impressed Guardiola on the night.

The Catalan said: "Sporting is a fantastic team, they are the champions of Portugal, which has a very strong league, with FC Porto and Benfica, they change the ball well, they have fast and intelligent players.

"Matheus Nunes is one of the best players in the world today. Despite the difficulties and some mistakes, I have to be very satisfied because we took a big step towards the next round.
