Manchester City have completed the signing of Rayan Cherki from Olympique Lyonnais, with the attacking midfielder putting pen to paper on a five-year deal.

According to reports, the club are believed to be paying an initial £30.45 million for the 21-year-old Frenchman.

Cherki enjoyed a standout campaign with Lyon in 2024-25, racking up 12 goals and 20 assists across all competitions.

He’ll be eligible to feature for City at the Club World Cup, which kicks off in the United States on 14 June.

Having already made 185 appearances for Lyon, Cherki also has two caps for France, scoring once.

He's the third new arrival at the Etihad in just two days. Pep Guardiola also secured left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves for £31 million on Monday, followed by the signing of back-up goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli from Chelsea earlier on Tuesday.
