Atlético de Madrid are reportedly closing in on the signing of Argentina international Julian Álvarez from Manchester City.
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, talks are now at the final stage regarding the overall transfer fee and structure of payment in the deal.
City paid £14m in January 2022 to sign the striker from River Plate and it is expected that a fee of close to £70m will be received for his sale.
Personal terms are not expected to be a problem for the 24-year-old, who is keen on the move to the Colchoneros.
Álvarez, who has won three major trophies for his country including the 2020 World Cup, made 54 appearances for the Cityzens last season, scoring 19 times and providing 13 assists.
