FULL TIME: PALERMO 0-3 MAN CITY

Haaland opened the scoring with a beauty in the first half before Reijnders stole the show with a second half brace. City grew into the game and imposed themselves on Palermo in the second half.


CHANCE PALERMO

The hosts almost snatch a consolation after Ederson rushes off his line, mis-times his clearance, allowing Francesco Cutrona to nip in on goal. Luckily, Ruben Dias is back to clear off the line at the vital moment.


GOAL CITY

It is 3-0 now and Reijnders is at the double! Savinho pokes the ball into the midfielder's path and he finds the same corner as his first goal. Those darting late runs into the box are working a treat this evening.


BIG CHANCE CITY!

It should really be 3-0 to Guardiola's side as Savinho takes up into a dangerous position inside the area but gets his shot all wrong and can't bury the finish.

Reijnders looks confident now and nearly bags a second of the evening, forcing Gomis into a strong save from a tight angle.



Palermo go close with a couple of quickfire chances with Le Douaron firing over and Palumbo almost finding the top corner with a powerful strike.


GOAL MAN CITY

It's 2-0 and Tijjani Reijnders gets his first-ever City goal! The Dutch midfielder receives a great pass from Savinho, takes a touch and drills home past Alfred Gomis.


PENALTY APPEAL

Jérémy Doku goes down inside the penalty area after a trademark dribble, but his appeals for a spot-kick are turned down by the referee.


SECOND HALF

The final 45 is underway at the Stadio Renzo Barbera.


HALF TIME: PALERMO 0-1 MAN CITY

Haaland's excellent finish gives Man City a one goal advantage at the break. It was a nervy start but Pep Guardiola's side looked the better side later in the half.


CHANCE CITY

So close to a second as Cherki's goal-bound effort is cleared off the line by Salim Diakité.

Omar Marmoush picks out Haaland, who tees up Rayyan Aït-Nouri, who lashes over the crossbar.



GOAL MAN CITY

Erling Haaland gets the first goal of the evening, taking an excellent first touch into the penalty area and lashing low into the corner. A superb finish.


After a flurry of early chances, the game has slowed in tempo. City are controlling the possession, but have not yet threatened Palermo's goal in the opening 25 minutes.


Man City have started to threaten more as the game has edged on and Rayan Cherki tries to get a shot away from a dangerous position, but can't sort his feet out in time to strike.

This hosts look up for this one and Filippo Ranocchia's deflected shot is saved by Trrafford.

Pietro Ceccaroni heads just wide, a big chance that left debutant James Trafford rooted.


Man City make a bright star as Oscar Bobb flies down the right wing and tries to get a cross into the box, but it's snubbed out by the Palermo backline.

A fine outing from the Gunners as they cruise to victory over Athletic Club. It was a commanding display, capped with goals from Gyökeres, Havertz and Saka.


Havertz had plenty to do to turn that situation into a goalscoring opportunity! Great determination.


GOAL ARSENAL!

Kai Havertz gets in on the action with a late third. The substitute does well to hold off his man before firing across Simon and into the net. A great, lung-busting run and finish from the German forward.


CHANCE ARSENAL

Havertz almost makes an impact from the bench and shoots towards goal, but Simon is there once again to keep the score at 2-0.


Martin Ødegaard slips in Gyökeres with a well-weighted through ball, but he can't quite reach it.

That's the last try for the Swedish striker as he gets a standing ovation from the Emirates before coming off for Kai Havertz.


OFF THE POST

It's Gyökeres again causing havoc as the Gunners striker meets Madueke's cross with a header that is tipped onto the post.


The one-way traffic continues as Arsenal send a few dangerous crosses into the box. Noni Madueke's first is too high for Saka to reach and Ben White whips the second across the six-yard area and out for a goal kick.

It's all Arsenal right now and Jurrien Timber heads inches over the crossbar from close range.


Gyökeres has looked lively this afternoon and he tries to pick out a teammate with a dangerous cross, but Athletic Club clear the danger.

Newcastle end pre-season without a victory after Atlético struck through Julián Álvarez and Antoine Griezmann in the second half.

Arsenal's quickfire double gives them a comfortable half time lead over Athletic Club.


ANOTHER ARSENAL GOAL

Bukayo Saka gets in on the action quickly to double Arsenal's lead. Martinelli touches past the onrushing Simon and paves the way for Saka to fire into an empty net. 2-0!


GOAL ARSENAL!

Gyökeres gets his first Gunners goal in front of the Emirates! It's a thumping header, finished expertly following Zubimendi's cross.


Arsenal produce a stunning team move as Gabriel Martinelli dribbles forward and picks out Gyökeres. The striker turns his man and tees up Calafiori, who can't keep his shot down as it flies over the bar.


CHANCE ARSENAL

Viktor Gyökeres tries the first time shot from the penalty spot position but Simón reads the attempt well and saves.


GOAL ATLETICO

Antoine Griezmann controls in the area and drills a well-taken right-footed finish past Nick Pope. Another rapid move from the Spanish side and a sublime strike from the Frenchman.


CHANCE ATHLETIC CLUB

Íñigo Ruiz de Galarreta dispossesses Riccardo Calafiori and fires towards goal, but David Raya produces a strong save to keep the score level.


CHANCE ATLETICO

Dávid Hancko gets into an unfamiliar position in front of goal and is tackled by Jamal Lascelles before he can pull the trigger. A vital tackle.

GOAL ATLETICO

Julián Alvarez applies the finishing touch from close range to cap a flowing Atlético move. That was a devestating counter as the Spanish side cut through Newcastle with ease.

The Gunners keep the pressure on and Saka's strike is saved by Unai Simón.


Arsenal look lively in the opening stages and Bukayo Saka gets into the box and tries to find Martín Zubimendi, who can't quite apply the finish.

Niclas Füllkrug's late finish helps the Hammers to bounce back and secure a draw after Giroud's sensational volley gave Lille a first half lead.

Everton didn't get the dream start they were hoping for at the Hill Dickinson Stadium as Matías Soulé's winner for Roma is the difference.


FULL TIME: LEEDS 1-1 MILAN

Stach's sensational strike helps Leeds to earn a comeback draw against Milan.


GOAL WEST HAM!!

The Hammers have been much more positive in the closing stages and Niclas Füllkrug is left unmarked from close-range to tap in the leveller.


CHANCE WEST HAM

El Hadji Malick Diouf's whipped cross is almost turned in by Ward-Prowse, but the midfielder can't quite connect properly.


HALF TIME: NEWCASTLE 0-0 ATLETICO

A pretty cagey opening 45 comes to an end on Tyneside.


OFF THE BAR

Milan almost restore their advantage against Leeds. Karl Darlow comes to collect a routine cross but spills onto the crossbar. Fortunately for Leeds, it clips the frame and goes behind for a corner.


CHANCE NEWCASTLE!

Joelinton threatens again with a towering header, but Oblak gets down quickly to deny the Brazilian.


A look at Stach's excellent finish to pull Leeds level.


Into the final 10 for the earlier three games. Leeds are level with Milan, while Everton and West Ham trail 1-0 against Roma and Lille, respectively.

Roma look to double their lead as Artem Dovbyk's strike is kept out by Pickford's full-stretch save.

The hosts are pushing for an equalising goal and Niclas Füllkrug's turn and shot goes just over the bar.

The Whites have grown into the second period as they probe for an equaliser and Joël Piroe squeezes a shot inches past the post.


Three changes for Everton. Beto replaces Thierno Barry, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is off for Dwight McNeil and Tim Iroegbunam comes on for Idrissa Gueye.

Dewsbury-Hall had an eye-catching debut, with some wonderful passing and creativity in the first half.

A fairly quiet start at St James' Park between Newcastle and Atlético. Anthony Elanga looks sharp, however, and has gone on a few darting runs in the opening stages.

Roma haven't done loads in this game, but do look threatening on the break as Neil El Aynaoui finds space in the area and curls wide. A let-off for Moyes' side.

Everton are desperate to score first at their new ground and Iliman Ndiaye has a great chance, controlling inside the area, but he lashes well wide.

Idrissa Gueye also has a golden opportunity, but also lashes wide whilst unmarked in the area.

Giménez's poacher's finish is the difference at the interval after Stach hit the bar for Leeds earlier in the half.

Everton have had the better chance during the first-half at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but it's level at the break.

Milan take the lead as Santiago Giménez reacts to a low deflected cross inside the area and thumps in the opener. A ruthless finish!

Opportunities are now starting to flow in London as James Ward-Prowse fires wide from distance.


Dewsbury-Hall continues to impress for Everton as he whips an excellent cross towards Barry, who can't keep his header down and nods over the bar.
