Real Madrid’s Champions League journey has once again been something to marvel at. The Merengues have enjoyed late wins and overcome some of the favorites to cement a spot in the final.

An early exit was predicted by many onlookers when Real Madrid drew Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the tournament, considering the Cityzens knocked them out last season.

However, proving for the umpteenth time that the Champions League is Real Madrid’s domain, the club stood resolutely against Man City across both legs to secure a win in the penalty shootouts.

Foden not short of praise

One of the players who stood out in the tie was Phil Foden, with the youngster scoring a blinder from range in the first leg.

But his efforts went in vain after Madrid took home the spoils of victory. Now, Foden has come out to recognize the incredible talents of the Real Madrid team.

When asked to name the most difficult team Manchester City have faced this season, Foden replied, “Real Madrid.” (h/t Madrid Zone).

He was also asked to choose the most difficult player he locked horns with this season, to which the Englishman responded, “Toni Kroos.”

Considering Kroos was a towering figure in midfield with brief but purposeful spells on the ball, Foden’s answer barely bewilders.

The German was once again crucial in the semi-finals against Bayern Munich, with a precise through ball to Vinicius in the first leg opening the floodgates.

Kroos’ future up in the air

So far there has not been any official verdict on Kroos’ future, who will be free to depart this summer.

It has been reported that he is considering hitting the exit door on a high note if Real Madrid wins the Champions League.
