Manchester City ace Riyad Mahrez says manager Pep Guardiola off the ball demands have been key to their success this season.
Having won the League Cup and reached the Champions League final, City could be confirmed Premier League champions this weekend.
Mahrez told L'Equipe: "Pep Guardiola really imbued us with this aggressiveness at the loss of the ball. To be a very, very high level player, you have to make that kind of effort. I don't defend very well, but I do it to help my teammates.
"At the very high level, if you don't defend, you can penalise your team. Afterwards, when you are Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar or Mbappé, and you have such extraordinary qualities, perhaps you can ignore certain defensive tasks.
"But on arrival, when we look at Paris, we say to ourselves that it is difficult to win the Champions League if everyone does not defend."
