Manchester City are ‘accelerating interest’ in Red Bull Salzburg’s latest hot prospect Luka Reischl, reports the Daily Mail.

Reischl (16), has won a host of admirers throughout Europe following his exploits in the Austrian side’s academy where he has 63 goals in 41 appearances.

Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are two clubs who had been monitoring the striker. However, the two Premier League sides have sped up their efforts to sign Reischl as FIFA regulations in effect from 1 January 2021 will prohibit the signing of overseas players under 18 years old.

This is because Brexit means Premier League sides will operate under FIFA’s guidelines, rather than those of the EU.

Reischl could be available for as ‘little as £2 million’ at present, which has only further heightened the race to sign the Austrian starlet as soon as possible.
