Chelsea have confirmed in an official statement that right-back Malo Gusto (21) from the France U21 squad due to injury. The former Lyon defender has been called up by new Les Espoirs boss Gérard Baticle for the upcoming international break with matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia on the horizon.
Gusto has been ruled out of the Les Bleuets squad due to a thigh injury. The Chelsea full back sustained the injury during the West London club’s 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace in the Premier League. The 21-year-old’s compatriot Wesley Fofana has also been ruled out of action for his country due to injury.
After sustaining an injury in the second half of Chelsea’s match on Sunday, Gusto has now turned to the club’s Cobham training ground to continue his recovery. One Blues player does remain in the Les Espoirs squad with Lesley Ugochukwu included in Baticle’s squad. The midfielder recently completed a loan move to Southampton.
