Mallorca escaped relegation on the final matchday last season, and now with a complete transfer window under Javier Aguirre, will hope to progress up the table in 2022-23.
This summer, much of Mallorca’s business has been signing key players who were on loan last year. Kosovan striker Vedat Muriqi was the club’s top-scorer in just half-a-season, and his move from Lazio has been made permanent for a club-record fee of nearly €8m.
Right-back Pablo Maffeo was also a revelation and has been signed from Stuttgart, while Argentine midfielder Rodrigo Battaglia has also joined the club permanently on a free transfer.
The departure of legend Manolo Reina and the end of Sergio Rico’s loan from PSG has opened the door for a goalkeeper move. Serbian Predrag Rajkovic should be a good addition in between the sticks.
