Mallorca defender fires shots at Real Madrid talisman – ‘You’re a fake’ | OneFootball

It is no secret that there is no love lost between Mallorca defender Pablo Maffeo and Real Madrid stars.

The right-back has often butted heads with Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr. on the pitch, leading to confrontations with the Brazilian’s teammates while he has not shied away from taking shots at the Merengues off the field either.

Maffeo blasts Jude Bellingham

Speaking in a recent interview (h/t Mundo Deportivo), Maffeo has fired big shots at Vinicius Jr.’s Real Madrid teammate Jude Bellingham, calling him ‘fake’.

Despite his intense rivalry with Vinicius, the Mallorca right-back claimed that he likes the Brazilian as he is direct and honest, while accusing Bellingham of ‘going behind his back’.

“Honestly, I swear I like Vinicius more,” Maffeo said. “With Vinicius, you see him coming. You know he is hot-headed like me; he is going to come at you.”

“But the other one, he goes behind your back. It’s a bit like what happens to me in real life with people. Hey, you don’t like me? Fine, but you come at me from the front,” he explained.

Maffeo went on to elaborate, further critiquing Bellingham’s character, as he said:

“If you act like a gentleman, if you say, ‘Oh, the kid is cold, I will give him my jacket,’ but then from behind you insult or mess with your teammates… Well, man, you are a fake.

“Come face-to-face, it is no problem. I do not like you either. If you already know it, so do not pretend to be nice.”

When asked to choose between the two Real Madrid stars, Maffeo did not hesitate: “Who do I prefer between the two? Vinicius. At least I know what he is like.”
