Borussia Dortmund made it two wins from two to start 204 with an impressive 4-0 victory away to Köln.
Scorers: Malen 12′, 61′ Füllkrug (PEN) 58′, Moukoko 90+2′
The visitors got off to the perfect start by taking the lead with just 12 minutes on the clock through Donyell Malen, who steered Julian Brandt’s training ground move corner kick into the bottom corner.
The start got even sweeter, albeit in a literal sense, five minutes later when fans of both clubs joined forces in hurling chocolate coins onto the field which caused a lengthy delay in protest against potential league investment.
Things remained tight until shortly before the hour mark when Dortmund pulled away, Niclas Füllkrug slotting home from the penalty spot after Jadon Sancho’s exaggerated fall in the area won his side a spot-kick.
Malen quickly added a third with his second of the evening, although he had much to thank Ian Maatsen for as he won the ball back deep in his own half before picking his compatriot out with a fantastic defence-splitting pass.
For the second straight game, Youssoufa Moukoko came off the bench to round things off in style in injury-time, diverting the ball home with his knee after he was found with a drive from the left.
The result moves Edin Terzić’s side level on points with Leipzig in fourth place.
