Mourinho full of praise for Tottenham ace Dele Alli after Wolfsberger win

According to the Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that he was very happy with the performance of Dele Alli against Wolfsberger.

Tottenham thrashed Wolfsberger AC 4-0 in the second leg of the Round of 32 contest, sealing progression to the Last 16 phase with an 8-1 aggregate win. And the second leg win was all thanks to a sensational display from Dele Alli.

The 24-year-old, who has had a topsy-turvy season at Tottenham this year, opened the scoring on the night with a brilliant overhead kick. The England international then went on to lay a couple of assists to Carlos Vinicius and Gareth Bale as Spurs produced another emphatic display.

And Mourinho, speaking after the game, lavished praise on Alli, a player who he has been reluctant to use on a regular basis this term.

“We had a difficult period, he had an injury and at the same time talk, talk, talk about staying or leaving. The market closed, the injury went and he started working with motivation. He is playing very well, I am not saying in this moment we have a starting lineup because of so many matches, but it is coming.
