Despite spending the second half of last season out on loan with West Ham United, Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard is reportedly keen to stay with the Red Devils.

Having fallen majorly out of favour with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last season, Lingard was allowed to seal a winter loan move and rejoined former boss David Moyes at West Ham.

Since his arrival in London, the English midfielder enjoyed a stunning re-emergence in form.

Having featured in 16 matches throughout his loan spell, Lingard managed to rack up a hugely impressive nine goals and five assists, in all competitions.

Following the season’s conclusion, many fans now expect the Englishman to make his Hammers’ switch permanent.

However, the latest in the ongoing saga comes from the Sun, who claims that in a shock turn of events, Lingard, who recently spoke with Solskjaer, wishes to remain at Old Trafford next season.

It has been claimed that the English midfielder has informed his manager that ‘his heart still belongs to Manchester’.
