Gabriel Magalhaes has been passed fit to face Crystal Palace on Thursday, and there’s good news on Gabriel Martinelli as well.

After his recent positive Covid test, Gabriel Magalhaes was unavailable for selection or squad training sessions until this week. The Arsenal staff have now had a few days to assess him, and they’ve ruled him ‘available for selection’ on Thursday.

Meanwhile, there were fears Gabriel Martinelli could have a serious ankle injury when he turned it in the pre-match warm-up against Newcastle United. However, test results indicate the problem is nothing serious and he can return to training this week.

Martinelli will still miss the Crystal Palace clash, but he may get a second chance to face Newcastle United next Monday.

As for Thomas Partey, the Arsenal pre-match update claims he’ll ‘be assessed’ for Thursday’s match.

Mikel Arteta previously stated he believed the midfielder would be available for the match, saying: “It would be a little bit rushed to try and play him against Newcastle (last weekend) but I think he will be ready for Thursday.”

The fact that Arsenal aren’t officially ruling him available for selection suggests there’s still a little bit of doubt, but hopefully they’re just managing expectations.

To have all three back by next Monday, all going well, would be a huge boost as we start to approach the second half of the Premier League campaign.
