Ferran Torres and Benjamin Mendy got in on the act as well, after a midfield masterclass by Belgian ace Kevin De Bruyne.

Manchester City Player Ratings Vs Burnley

Ederson – 6

The Brazilian keeper had very little to do in terms of shot-stopping tonight as the home side were completely dominant from start to finish. Only had the one save to make, and he did that well.

Kyle Walker – 8

Spent a majority of the fixture in the final third, and showed himself in an excellent light over the course of the ninety. Had very little to do defensively and linked up well with the city forwards.

John Stones – 8

The Englishman put up a dominant display in the heart of defence tonight as he didn’t allow the Burnley attackers any room in behind. Composed for the most part and looked nothing short of solid.

Ruben Dias – 7.5

Despite showing a couple of moments of weakness in the first-half, the summer signing had a rather comfortable outing at the back. Held his position well and wasn’t overly troubled by the tie.

Benjamin Mendy – 8

The speedster got up and down the flank with extreme ease and even managed to score what was an absolute peach of a goal in the first-half. Caused the Burnley defence lots of problems.

Kevin De Bruyne – 9

The Belgian superstar ran the show in the middle of the park and ensured that the Burnley defenders didn’t have a moment to rest. Picked up two assists and almost scored a goal as well.

Rodri – 7

Although the midfielder was substituted at half-time in a tactical move by Guardiola, at no point in the tie did he look overly flustered. Did extremely well to create the opening goal as well.

Ilkay Gundogan – 7

The German wasn’t at his fluent attacking best tonight, but he was composed and collected when required to move the ball around. Sat in the slot and brought the other City players into the game.

Riyad Mahrez – 10

The former Leicester City man had what was undoubtedly his best game of the season so far, as he ripped the Burnley defence to shreds on multiple occasions. Scored his first hat-trick of the season too.

Gabriel Jesus – 7

Despite not getting on the scoresheet himself, there’s no denying that the Brazilian worked his absolute socks off for the sake of the team. Did well to find Torres ahead of the Citizens’ fourth as well.
