Harry Maguire has etched his name into the history books for eternity with a seemingly innocuous goal against Sheffield United.
The Manchester United defender levelled the game up after a howler from goalkeeper André Onana gifted the Premier League’s bottom side the lead.
Though a symbolic goal against his former club, the goal meant far more than Maguire is likely to realise.
In nodding past Wes Foderingham, the England centre-back notched the 1085th goal of the Premier League season.
That is a new record for the most goals scored across a 20 team, 38 game Premier League season, beating last season’s effort by a single goal, though that is almost certain to change later this evening.
With games now coming thick and fast between now and the end of the campaign, that new record is only going to grow, but no one will take it off Maguire for at least another 12 months.
