The Uefa Nations League continued with a whole host of games on Wednesday evening.
Here’s what went down …
England were reduced to 10 men after just 31 minutes of this match, when Harry Maguire was shown a second yellow card for a studs-up tackle on Kasper Dolberg.
And just moments later, Christian Eriksen controversially put Denmark ahead from the penalty spot after Thomas Delaney had been brought down following a mix up between Kyle Walker and Jordan Pickford.
Mason Mount went close to equalising for England in the second half but Kasper Schmeichel denied him with a terrific save.
And to compound Gareth Southgate’s misery, Reece James was then shown a red card after full-time at Wembley.
Italy took the lead after 16 minutes when Nicolò Barella found Lorenzo Pellegrini with a precise pass, and the Roma midfielder coolly slipped past the goalkeeper.
But nine minutes later the Dutch were level thanks to their first goal in 326 minutes of football, courtesy of Donny van de Beek.
Italy remain second behind Poland in Group A1, while the Netherlands remain third.
Romelu Lukaku gave Belgium an early lead in Reykjavík but Birkir Már Sævarsson soon drew the hosts level.
Lukaku then put the Red Devils back in front from the penalty spot after he himself had been brought down in the box.
Belgium consolidate their place at the top of Group A2 on nine points.
Antoine Griezmann’s resurgence continued when he put France ahead with an emphatic finish in the 8th minute of this match.
Kylian Mbappé went close to making it 2-0 but in the second half, Croatia drew level when Nikola Vlašić fired an unstoppable effort past Hugo Lloris.
But with 12 minutes remaining, Mbappé finished off a brilliant team move from close range to win the game.
France drop to second in Group A3, while Croatia are seven points behind in third.
Portugal opened the scoring after 21 minutes against Sweden when Dioga Jota unselfishly played in Bernardo Silva, and the Manchester City man finished well.
Then, on the stroke of half-time, Jota got his name on the scoresheet to make it 2-0 with a very nice finish of his own following a super pass from João Cancelo.
Jota then made it 3-0 in the second half with another great finish following a mazy run from the left wing.
That result leaves Portugal top of Group A3 on goal difference. Who needs Cristiano Ronaldo?
