Harry Maguire believes there is “not a chance” that there is a better midfielder in the world right now than England team-mate Jude Bellingham.

The Real Madrid man played a starring role as England beat Italy 3-1 at Wembley to book their place at Euro 2024, winning the penalty for Harry Kane to equalise before setting up Marcus Rashford to put England 2-1 up.

He has made a flying start to life at Madrid following his summer move from Borussia Dortmund, scoring ten goals in his first ten games for the club.

And Maguire says there is no one better in his position than the 20-year-old right now.

“No chance,” the Manchester United defender said when asked if there is any midfielder better than him in the world.

“I’ve been speaking highly of Jude now for a number of years, ever since he’s come in and trained with the boys.

“You could see his mentality, his physicality is incredible. For such a young boy to have that head on his shoulders and also to be able to deal with it physically, he looks enormous out there.

“That’s a credit to him. I know for a fact he’s humble and he takes it in his stride. He’ll keep helping the team for sure.

“Jude can do everything. It’s about keeping his head and pushing and I’m sure he will because he has a great team around him, great family, and I’m sure he’s going to be a big, big player for England.

“I hope he carries on his form at Madrid. He’s started really well there and I’m sure he’ll continue.

“He has every opportunity and every bit of talent to go on and be as successful as he wants to be.”
