Sheffield United forward Lys Mousset has taken to Instagram to share a hint regarding his fitness ahead of the club’s showdown with Cardiff City this weekend.

The forward has missed the club’s last three league fixtures due to an issue with his hip.

In Mousset’s absence, the Blades have managed to pick up victories in their clashes with Reading and Bristol City whilst they also sealed a point in their meeting with Coventry City last month.

Having led the Blades to a 2-0 win over the Robins in his permanent game in charge of the club, Paul Heckingbottom will now be aiming to guide his side to a great deal of success over the Christmas period.

Set to face Cardiff on Saturday, the Blades could potentially move above the likes of Middlesbrough and Blackpool in the Championship standings if they beat the Welsh outfit.

Mousset will be keen to play a key role for his side in their upcoming fixtures after experiencing a stop-start campaign to date.

In the seven games that he has featured in for United in the Championship, the Frenchman has managed to find the back of the net on three occasions.

Ahead of the club’s showdown with the Bluebirds, Mousset has hinted at the possibility that he will be involved in this game by sharing a picture of himself participating in training on Instagram.

The Verdict

Although Heckingbottom has yet to confirm whether Mousset will be fit enough to feature this weekend, this post is an encouraging update as the forward is clearly making progress in his road to recovery.

The 25-year-old will need to step up to the mark when he is ready to return to action as Billy Sharp and Rhian Brewster both scored for the Blades against the Robins.

Providing that Mousset is able to stay injury-free for the remainder of the campaign, he could potentially play a significant role in helping his side push on in the Championship.

By securing all three points at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday, Heckingbottom’s side could use the momentum gained from this result to climb the second-tier standings in the coming weeks.
