Under Pierre Sage, Dejan Lovren (34) and Rayan Cherki (20) are both featuring less prominently. As two of the top earners at Olympique Lyonnais, departures are envisaged this summer, according to L’Équipe.

It is no secret that Lyon are looking to cash in on Cherki. The club’s seventh-highest earner, the France U21 international will have just one year remaining on his contract come the end of the season. OL therefore believe it is time to cash in on the player, who has not succeeded in finding a regular place in Sage’s plans.

L’Équipe reported in December that Lyon could ask for as little as €10m for Cherki. Meanwhile, Lovren, the joint-third-highest earner in Lyon’s squad, who like Cherki has just one year remaining on his deal, could also leave. Given everything that he has done for Les Gones over two spells, the club would be willing to allow him to leave on a free transfer, if an interesting project presents itself.

Anthony Lopes (33) could also leave the club at the end of the season. The Portuguese goalkeeper, like Lovren, could be allowed to leave on a free. The joint-fifth-highest earner, he is expected to be replaced as No.1 by Lucas Perri (26) at the end of the season and a move either to Portugal or to Saudi Arabia, where there is notable interest, has been touted by L’Équipe.
