According to Foot Mercato journalists Santi Aouna and Hanif Ben Berkane, FC Lorient want to make a permanent move for Lyon midfielder Romain Faivre (24), who spent the latter half of last season on loan with Les Merlus.
However, Les Olympiens have put a price tag of €15m for the player, who has received interest from several Premier League sides. Faivre moved from Brest to Lyon in January 2022 for the same price, but he failed to impress manager Laurent Blanc on his arrival following the departure of Peter Bosz earlier this season.
Faivre’s loan to Lorient was the turning point in his season: the Frenchman scored five goals and registered four assists in 17 appearances for Regis Le Bris’ side. Les Merlus will face competition from the Premier League for his signature with Everton, Crystal Palace, and Fulham interested in a permanent move for the midfielder.
Despite this, Lorient reportedly remain determined to explore all avenues to secure Faivre’s services for the upcoming season.
