RMC Sport report that Lyon midfield target João Gomes has chosen Wolves over the Ligue 1 outfit, with the club now turning their attention towards Tunisian international Ellyes Skhiri.

The Köln man was on Les Gones’ radar last winter as a potential Bruno Guimarães replacement, and the former Montpellier man could be set for a return to France, three and a half seasons after leaving Montpellier.

Skhiri, who has four goals this season, sees his contract on the other side of the Rhine expire at the end of the campaign. He fits the profile manager Laurent Blanc is looking to bring in, as an experienced midfielder, and would not be too much of a dent on OL’s finances.

The 27-year-old, who featured for his country at the World Cup, has yet to agree to a move to Lyon, with talks still ongoing, and also has two offers from other German clubs on the table.
