Sébastien Denis of Foot Mercato reports this afternoon that Tottenham Hotspur right-back Djed Spence is being targeted by Lyon, with the club in the market to reinforce their full-back options.
The 22-year-old joined Spurs last year from Middlesbrough – having been out on loan at Nottingham Forest the previous season, playing a role in their promotion campaign – but has yet to see substantial playing time, having only featured in six games so far this term.
Spence, a Fulham a cademy graduate and England youth international, could be an option as Lyon face the prospect of losing Malo Gusto to Chelsea before the end of the month – the Premier League side have seen their first offer for the right-back prospect turned down but are set to come in with a new bid, and the Frenchman appears willing to make the move across the Channel. With Gusto, a first-team regular, being OL’s only recognisable right-back in the squad, a new arrival would become a necessity.
