Lyon not pursuing former Tottenham Director of Football Steve Hitchen | OneFootball

Recent reports from the Daily Mail suggested that Lyon had expressed interest in Steve Hitchen, the former Director of Football at Tottenham to join the club. However, Foot Mercato reports that OL’s pursuit of Hitchen is not currently on the agenda, as American owner John Textor is taking a measured approach and wants to wait until after OL’s upcoming Coupe de France semi-final against Nantes on April 5th to consider any internal reorganisation.

Les Gones are currently going through a period of transition, having finished only 10th in Ligue 1 and recently come under American ownership. While Jean-Michel Aulas remains in charge, the new owner John Textor is reportedly becoming increasingly influential. The Rhône-based club is also being led by Vincent Ponsot, the General Director of Football, and Bruno Cheyrou, the Director of Recruitment.

OL’s American ownership has brought a new approach to management, but the club has yet to see significant success on the pitch, leading some fans to question the new direction, especially in the context of a season of struggle under Peter Bosz and minimal improvement with his replacement, Laurent Blanc.
